I was born in NYC but grew up on Long Island. I'm of Puerto Rican decent and grew up hearing both English and Spanish. Unfortunately my Spanish isn't where it should be ( I'm working on it with the help of my students). I love the theatre and dance and have always enjoyed going to BROADWAY to see live performances.

My husband Roger and I moved to Georgia in 1998. At first it was a culture shock and I was quite homesick ( no friends, no family). Soon the shorter winters and not having to shovel 3 ft. of snow, helped me to adjust to my new home. We  currently live  in Cobb county with our two daughters.

This will be my 17th year of teaching at Annette Winn. I've taught second grade and  third grade. This year will be my 9th year as an ESOL teacher. I look forward to working with my ESOL family again. My goal is to help my EL's become more fluent with their social and academiic English language skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

I describe my classroom as a place  where children can feel comfortable to  learn, share, and celebrate each other's  culture. A place where they are challenged to reach academic goals at school and goals for their future!
