Graduated from Marshall University

During my first years of teaching I was fortunate enough to experience year round school in an open classroom building (a school with no walls between classrooms.) Teaching in a building with no walls gave me the opportunity to observe amazing teachers in action everyday! As a new teacher I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I've taught kindergarten, first, second, third, and fifth grades; looped up with a class of first graders to second grade; job shared in second grade for three years while my kids were infants; taught a second grade gifted cluster class; served as a gifted education teacher; served as a Title I reading and math technology teacher; and even homeschooled my own daughter. I have been a member of math and language arts textbook adoption and teaching redelivery committees. I traveled to the Virgin Islands to train teachers using the Everyday Math Curriculum.

I have loved each unique teaching experience throughout the years but I truly treasure my time at Annette Winn Elementary.

I have been teaching for over 25 years and have served children in Utah, Tennessee, and Georgia.  This is my 18th year in Georgia having taught in Forsyth, Whitfield and Douglas Counties.

I am married to the love of my life and my soul mate.   We have two wonderful children and an adorable five year old grandson.

I am excited to be starting my fourth year at AWES as part of the Special Education Team.  This is an AWESome place to be!
